New Debt Coach appointment

The Debt Centre team is growing.
We now have a new Debt Coach joining the team in order to meet the demand.

Suzie Shearsby is set to begin the training process that will mean she can see new clients in September 2020.
Suzie has been a long-term supporter of CAP and has regularly volunteered to support Jono Peatman, our Debt Centre manager.
Suzie said: "I feel God has given me a passion for reaching out to the lost in my community, offering hope and sharing the love of Jesus in a practical way."
Steven Hewitt, on behalf of the LMDCDC Trustees, said: "On one hand, we don't want to see situations where people are getting into debt. But on the other hand, if those situations exist, then we want to be able to help them.
"Suzie's appointment means we we can meet more clients and help more people, households and families to face up to, and deal with, their debt situations."
If you would like to be involved with the CAP Debt Centre, either as a volunteer or to give financially, please get in touch or check out our donations page.

Meet our new Debt Centre Manager

Hi, my name is Jono Peatman and I'm the Debt Centre Manager here at the Lancaster and Morecambe District Churches Debt Centre. I'm so excited to be taking on this role. With a background working both in Christian schools work, and for the last two years in a local business setting, I feel the skills I have developed in both finance and sharing my faith have prepared me for this role. I have seen first hand the affects of poverty in Heysham, the community where I live, and it really excites me that as local churches we are doing something about it. Do get in touch with me if you want any further info on getting involved with CAP, thanks for your support.

Debt Centre Manager position filled

We are very thankful that eight people have applied for the position of Debt Centre Manager. The candidates came from eight different churches across Lancaster & Morecambe, which shows the great support for CAP and the new centre in Lancaster & Morecambe.

All eight applicants offered great contributions to the position, each in their own unique God given way. This didn't make the decision to appoint one of them an easy one. The trustees are thankful for Nick's expertise as a former Debt Centre Manager and Tracy who offered excellent outside neutral insights.

We are delighted that one candidate has been chosen, who will now attend a day's interview at CAP HQ in Bradford. We are very excited about the great work which lies ahead of us. All will be revealed soon, watch this space.

Keep the 2nd of December 7.30 pm in your diary - it's the grand launch event.

God bless.
Michael Kohl
(on behalf of the trustees)
